The Calgary Expo is less than a month away! If you weren’t already excited enough, Deadpool fans now have an extra reason to don their spandex. Peggy the Dog, who rose to fame as Dogpool in Deadpool and Wolverine, will make her Canadian convention debut at the Calgary Expo.
An absolute legend will be gracing our city, folks.
What to expect
Peggy will be available for photo ops and autographs (pawtographs), with $5 from each donated to Parachutes for Pets. This local charity helps vulnerable people and their pets stay together by removing barriers and providing resources.
Dogpool will also be strutting her stuff in the iconic POW! Parade of Wonders as the PAWrader in Chief. The kick-off parade will be on Friday, April 25, at 10:30 a.m., starting in Victoria Park and ending on the grand staircase of BMO Centre.
“We’ve had plenty of superheroes and stars at Calgary Expo, but this year, we’re raising the bar—because Peggy is, without a doubt, the goodest girl we’ve ever welcomed,” said Fan Expo HQ Vice President Andrew Moyes. “Fans are going to love her.”
This will be Peggy’s first-ever Canadian convention appearance, so don’t miss it if you love a little adorable chaos.
Peggy’s origin story
Peggy was originally a rescue dog, but it didn’t take long for her loving adoptive family to realize she had the perfect personality for Hollywood. Dogpool was her breakout role in the 2024 Deadpool movie alongside Ryan Reynolds.
Get your tickets for the Calgary Expo and meet Peggy yourself. This tiny celebrity will be joining other prolific stars in Calgary like Michael J. Fox (Back to the Future), Nicholas Hoult (Superman), Charlie Cox (Daredevil) and John Boyega (Star Wars), among others.
Get your tickets early to save on admission. Oh, and make sure you have a good costume planned.
