Justin Bieber Appears to Shade Mom Pattie After Her Prayer for His ‘Healing’

9 October 20252 Mins Read

Looks like Justin Bieber isn’t exactly in the mood for divine intervention.

The pop star appeared to throw some shade at his mom, Pattie Mallette, after she shared an emotional Instagram post praying for his “healing.” Back on September 22, the 50-year-old author uploaded a carousel of black-and-white photos showing Bieber walking through the Coachella festival grounds in a T-shirt that read “Pray for me.”

“We’re cheering you on and praying for you always Justin,” Mallette captioned the post, later adding, “I declare freedom, strength, clarity, and healing over you Justin. Every chain of fear, confusion, heaviness, and pain — be broken in Jesus’ name.” This comes after Bieber announced he’ll be headlining the Coachella festival in 2026.

But Bieber didn’t seem to share her sense of urgency. Nearly two weeks later he popped into the comments with a sarcastic response that made some fans laugh — and some raise eyebrows. “Only thing I need healing from is my rolled pinky toe from playing ping pong,” the 31-year-old quipped. The comment has almost eight thousand likes at the time of writing.

The remark, while humorous, had followers debating whether the exchange was playful banter or a subtle jab at his mom’s deeply religious tone.

“As someone who uses humor to avoid things, this is easily seen through. Lmfaoo. We’re praying for you always Justin,” one person wrote.

Another theorized, “It must be a new song called pray for me.”

“That’s why he is my favorite human being,” said a third.

At the time of Mallette’s prayer, Bieber had just confirmed his return to Coachella with an Instagram post and the caption “see u in april.”The news comes amid a year of headline-making moments, from odd public antics to speculation about his marriage to Hailey Bieber.

The couple, who tied the knot in 2018 and welcomed their first child, Jack Blues, last summer, have been focusing on family life. The “Peaches” singer’s Coachella headliner deal reportedly earned him a $10 million payday following his dual album drops, Swag and Swag II, earlier this year, according to Billboard.
