JW Marriott Tucson Starr Pass Resort & Spa has unveiled renovated guestrooms and suites as part of property updates that also include meeting space, the golf course and clubhouse, and pool areas.

The room renovation covers 524 guestrooms and 51 suites. The suite inventory includes 13 new Junior Suites, while Executive Suites have increased from 15 to 20. Executive Suites include separate living areas and private balconies.

The resort has introduced Family Bunk Bed Suites, which include a king bed and twin bunk beds. The new JW Camper Experience includes a child-sized play camper, campfire, sleeping bag, milk and chocolate chip cookies, an activity book and crayons. A children’s book and plush toy cactus are available as optional keepsakes.

Four Sonoran Starr Suites have also been added. Each suite has 1,275 square feet of living space and an 868-square-foot private terrace. The suites include a private king bedroom, two bathrooms, a living area, wet bar, dining space and an optional connecting guest room. Each Sonoran Starr Suite includes a telescope.

Guestroom updates include beds positioned closer to views, seating nooks with trundle sofas, walk-in showers, stone finishes and double vanities. The design incorporates Southwest architecture; earthy ochre, sage, rosemary, thyme and cactus green; patinated metals; hardwoods; canvas; textiles; and artwork inspired by native pottery.

Design references include the Sonoran Desert, Saguaro National Park, Tucson Mountain Park, blue skies and the property’s history as a stagecoach route.

Property updates also include renovation of more than 115,000 square feet of meeting and event space, work on the 27-hole golf course and clubhouse, and changes to guest-facing areas. The pool complex includes a lazy river, waterslide and a separate adults-only pool area.

The resort plans updates to its market and retail areas this fall.
