Kempinski Hotels has announced Karin Raguin as its new Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). Raguin will be part of the group’s executive leadership team, responsible for repositioning the 127-year-old brand.
Raguin brings extensive experience in innovative talent strategies and a focus on creating a positive, inclusive work culture. Her role will be pivotal in driving sustainable growth and empowering the hotel group’s workforce, which consists of over 19,000 employees globally. Kempinski’s leadership recognizes that human capital is its most valuable asset, and enhancing team effectiveness is crucial to its future success.
As CHRO, Raguin will manage all human resource elements for Kempinski Hotels. Her responsibilities include talent management and acquisition, performance management, compensation and benefits, succession planning, compliance, learning and development, and social impact. The aim is to ensure that Kempinski remains a global leader and first choice for premier talent.
Raguin expressed her excitement about joining Kempinski, emphasizing her commitment to fostering a culture that upholds the company’s values while empowering talent and nurturing creativity. Her mission includes attracting, developing, and inspiring the best in the hospitality industry while shaping the future of luxury hospitality.
Raguin boasts a career of over 20 years in Human Resources within the luxury goods and fashion industry. She previously was Senior Vice President of Human Resources for LVMH in China. Based in Shanghai since 2022, Raguin has led a robust team of over 35 department heads across the Human Resources vertical. She also served on the LVMH Global Tech Board, a project team focused on leveraging data and systems to transform Human Resources.
Raguin’s previous roles within LVMH include Vice President, Talent Management and Corporate Social Responsibility at LVMH North America, and Global Head of Career Management for LVMH in Paris. She also served as VP, Global Talent for Christian Dior Couture, based in Paris.
Raguin has a Master of Human Resources from ISC Paris and is a Member of the International Strategic Committee at ISC Paris. Her appointment follows the recent hiring of Gordon Drake as Chief Financial Officer and Rasha Lababidi as Chief Product Officer, signaling a new phase for Kempinski Hotels.
