Kate Gosselin Shares Devastating Family News: 'We Are Suffering'

Kate Gosselin’s family has suffered a heartbreaking loss.

The mother-of-eight took to TikTok to share that her German Shepherd puppy, Meika, had died. The news comes just seven months after Gosselin lost her dog, Nanuq.

“I have tried to write this a few times over the last few days,” Gosselin, 51, wrote on TikTok on Tuesday, July 28. “It feels too final to put it on paper, so to speak. We lost Meika in the middle of the night on Saturday. She went into respiratory failure and they couldn’t revive her. I have NEVER in my life been so broken, angry or grief stricken.”

“We are suffering. Koda is suffering,” she said, referring to her other dog. “Please give us time to grieve and we’ll be back at some point. Our baby, the closest thing to a child that Steve and I will ever have, was only 15 months and 10 days old,” she continued, referring to her boyfriend, Steve Neild. “Life is so cruel and unfair. This one I’ll never heal from,” she concluded.

Gosselin received love and support from her fans, many of whom commented on her post with condolences.

“I am so sorry for your loss. It is difficult enough to say goodbye when they are older, but when they are so young it is truly hard to accept,” one person wrote.

“You love your dogs so hard (as I do mine). I am truly so sorry for you, Steve, and Koda. What great love Meika had while she was here! From a true dog lover and shepherd owner whose heart is so broken for you,” another fan added.

Days prior, Gosselin asked fans for prayers as she shared that she was taking Meika to the emergency vet for the “second time in 12 hours.” An X-ray showed that the pup had pneumonia.
