Lee’s NYC Family Style Food Festival will include a diverse collection of over 40 restaurants, along with streetwear brands, and bands. The inaugural event starts at 1 p.m. in Brooklyn’s Industry City on Saturday, May 17. Tickets for the event are on sale starting at just over $40 for general admission. The participating restaurants will have food for sale as well as merch.
NYC Family Style Food Festival’s New York restaurant lineup includes high-profile spots like L’Industrie, Katz’s, Lucali, Russ & Daughters, Potluck Club, Dhamaka, Double Chicken Please, Raku, Forsyth Fire Escape, Nom Wah, and more.
The food festival born in Los Angeles was founded on partnering hot restaurants with popular brands. Ben Shenassafar and Bobby Kim of the streetwear company the Hundreds, teamed up with event producer Miles Canares to launch the first festival in 2019.
Last year, digital media company Complex acquired the festival as part of a new venture with plans for a food publication and events. In addition to the LA festival, the fest debuted last year in Las Vegas at ComplexCon: At that event, Lee got his own section of the festival where he showcased some of his favorite Las Vegas restaurants.
Lee is known for visiting cities and ordering and trying food from various oftentimes independently owned restaurants while seated in his car. He’ll then share those opinions through his TikTok account, where he has over 17 million followers. He recently ate around New York last month during a visit that included Trinciti Roti Shop in Ozone Park, Bolivian Llama Party in Sunnyside, and Brooklyn’s Taste of Heaven.
