Kim Kardashian made it her goal to break the internet—again—when she donned pieces from her new SKIMS swim line in a bombshell ad campaign teased earlier this week, but it was an IRL marketing stunt gone wrong that may just help her succeed.
The clothing brand erected what appears to be an inflatable model of its founder dressed in an itty bitty blue bikini in the middle of Manhattan, which embodied the essence of a personal pleasure doll, as many pointed out in the comments.
It was propped on its side with its arms draped over its eyes and the top of its head, with its arms and hips keeping the length of its torso lifted high in the air.

“SKIMS Swim takes over Times Square,” the brand captioned the pictures.

The takeover didn’t hit for many of the entrepreneur’s followers, though, with one even admitting, “I love skims and this is so awful.”
“No that’s just awful sorry,” someone else agreed, while another called it “so beyond weird” and a fourth dubbed it “a complete eye sore.”
“Tacky AF, tone deaf, ego centric,” another described, suggesting it was “Maybe the worst product campaign launch ever.”
“Looks terrifying to me,” someone else wrote in part.
Others called it “Narcisstic [sic],” with one suggesting that it was “giving idol worship of an objectified woman instead of empowered free and cozy…”
“I struggle with the waste that will come from the blow up,” another commenter wrote, “let alone the body dysphoria and unrealistic body messages this sends to young girls.”
“An [sic] we wonder why so many have body [dysmorphia],” someone else agreed. “this is a unrealistic body goal that so many girls believe they should look like.”
It did earn applause from others, though.
“I like this it’s lit y’all are haters ‼️,” one fan defended, while another suggested that “Everyone on the marketing team deserves a raise!”
“can this be in the thanksgiving day this year?” someone else requested, while another begged for a way to “get this in my room.”
“brb, flying to NYC,” someone else quipped.
