La Caverne du Pont Neuf, An Immersive Experience

French artist JR has wrapped Paris’ oldest bridge, Le Pont Neuf, transforming it into La Caverne du Pont Neuf, a monumental immersive installation measuring 120 meters long and 18 meters high.
The project required two years of craftsmanship and the work of 800 people, including the team at Air Toiles Concept.
Let’s come together through art
La Caverne du Pont Neuf has stirred controversy, which I find difficult to understand. We finally have a monumental work of real art — created by human hands, built in the real world, meant to be experienced with our bodies and our senses.
In an era where so many hide behind screens and AI simulations, we should be celebrating JR creation.
Walking along the Seine
The photos in the video follow the exact order of my walk along the Seine.
It was extremely hot that day, and I could barely see anything because of the sun reflecting on my phone. It wasn’t easy… and carrying a purse definitely didn’t help.
Opening soon for 2 weeks
The installation was scheduled to open June 6, 2026, for a two‑week run. Unfortunately, on June 2, heavy winds and rain damaged part of the structure. Repairs are underway, and the opening will be announced soon.
Visitors will be able to walk through the 15‑minute experience, free and open to all, day and night.
