Tween hearts broke everywhere when they picked up their favorite 1999 teen magazine and learned that Lance Bass, 46, of NSYNC was officially off the market by none other than our beloved Danielle Fishel, 44, of Boy Meets World.
Their romance was brief, only lasting just about a year, but that hasn’t stopped them from remaining lifelong friends. Recently, Bass joined a popular TikTok trend where a text overlay reads, “How many months have you known each other?” followed by a collage of photos spanning the years. He used the trend to showcase his enduring friendship with Fishel, sharing sweet throwbacks that delighted fans.

“324 months later…safe to say we’ve come a long way from the hover hand @daniellefishel,” he jokingly captioned the video, referencing their awkward prom photo. Fans absolutely lived for the sweet throwback photos.
“The one time when being put into the Friend Zone is the best thing ever,” joked one follower.
“Both of y’all have quite the prom date flex,” added another.
“This just healed my heart,” quipped another.
People also fussed over how they look so great, even though it’s been “324 months” since they got together. While they may not be romantically involved any more, they’ve remained great friends. They each are currently with their respective partners: Bass married actor Michael Turchin in 2014, and Fishel married producer and podcaster Jensen Karp in 2018.

On Fishel’s podcast Pod Meets World with Rider Strong, 45, and Will Friedel, 49, Bass made a fun guest appearance to talk about their romance. The two are apparently working on a project about their prom experience and love story, though there is no official release date. However, the singer actually credited their prom date as part of what helped him come out in July 2006.
“The reason we wanted to make this prom story into a film, I think so many people can relate to that story; so many people in the LGBT community, their prom night was the night they were like, ‘Oh, wait a minute. This can’t happen anymore,’” he said. “This was the catalyst for me that made me start to accept myself, which took a long time after that, but that was definitely the first little straw that broke.”
