Law & Order: Special Victims Unit star Mariska Hargitay got fans excited with her latest update and one-word message.
The actress took to Instagram on Aug. 4, revealing a photo taken on the set of her hit crime drama with co-star Christopher Meloni, who is reportedly returning to the series in the next season.
Hargitay got fans revved up as she added a simple message in the caption, declaring, “Reunited.” In the photo, Meloni and Hargitay smiled brightly as they held hands while standing together.

Fans could not get enough of seeing the two happy together while filming new episodes, commenting things like, “And it feels so goooood❤️,” “we’ve literally never been more back,” and “The duo we all know and love ❤️.”
Another said, “My heart is so full! Seeing them reunited again means everything. This duo will always be iconic. ❤️😭.”
The excitement went on, as more fans chimed in, saying, “screaming, crying, sliding down the wall,” “Once again breaking the internet 🔥,” and “Not to be dramatic but my heart is full of joy rn. THANK U, Mariska ❤️.”
Both Hargitay and Meloni have been teasing fans about his big return ever since rumors started swirling, with the two actors sharing some more photos from set on Aug. 2 that had fans in awe.
Meloni originally starred in Law & Order: SVU with Hargitay for the first 12 seasons before he left. He then returned to the franchise in 2021, appearing both in Law & Order: SVU and his new spinoff, Law & Order: Organized Crime, which is still ongoing. Meloni has made further guest appearances on Law & Order: SVU since then.
While NBC hasn’t officially confirmed Meloni’s return to the show for the upcoming Season 27, his appearance on set makes it clear that he is filming something for new episodes with Hargitay.
