LEGO’s massive new Lord of the Rings set arrives in Canada next month

LEGO fans, it’s time to head back to Middle-earth.

In honour of The Lord of the Rings 25th Anniversary, a new Minas Tirith set has just been announced as the brand’s latest addition to its Lord of the Rings collection, and it’s the biggest LEGO build of the bunch. 

The 8,278-piece build is designed to be a detailed recreation of the iconic White City of Minas Tirith, and features layered city walls, towering architecture and the citadel of Gondor. According to LEGO, the set features “a hybrid-scale design, combining an expansive microscale cityscape with richly detailed minifigure-scale interior scenes.” 

If you’ve seen the films inspired by J.R.R Tolkien’s novels, then you’ll be familiar with the sweeping skyline and defensive walls of Minas Tirith – all of which have been faithfully recreated in LEGO brick form. Builders can explore key interior spaces too, including the throne room of the citadel, where pivotal moments from the story unfold.

Additionally, the set includes the legendary Shadowfax horse figure and 10 detailed minifigures:

  • Gandalf the White
  • Aragorn as King Elessar
  • Faramir
  • Denethor
  • Peregrin Took
  • Arwen
  • Four Soldiers of Gondor

When can you buy the LEGO Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith set in Canada?

Fans of LEGO and Lord of the Rings won’t have to wait long to get their hands on this build. The set will be available for purchase as of June 4, 2026, and will retail for $930 CAD. 

LEGO Insiders receive early access to this set from June 1 – 3, 2026, and while supplies last, will receive the LEGO Icons The Lord of the Rings: Grond as a free gift on purchases made by June 7, 2026.

If your apartment (or your wallet) doesn’t have space for the newest set, there are a handful of other LEGO Lord of the Rings builds to choose from. 

Sauron’s Helmet and the Balrog Book Nook are the smallest of the bunch, and are under $150 CAD each. Hobbit fans can try their hand at recreating The Shire in LEGO form, and for more complex structures, builders can explore the Rivendell and Barad-dûr sets.
