Liam Neeson Details Navigating 'Strange' Steamy Scene With Pamela Anderson in 'The Naked Gun': 'That Was a First'

31 July 20252 Mins Read

Liam Neeson has been in his share of action-packed roles, but nothing prepared him for his latest project.

The 73-year-old actor stars opposite Pamela Anderson in The Naked Gun, a reboot of the beloved slapstick franchise, in which he plays Detective Frank Drebin Jr.

During a recent appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Neeson opened up about what it was like filming an intimate scene with his co-star.

“There’s a threesome,” Neeson confessed to Colbert with a smirk, before teasing: “And one of the participants is very cold.”

The scene involves a romantic entanglement with Anderson’s character. For Neeson, it was his first time working with an intimacy coordinator.

“It’s a little bit strange,” he said of the process, but added: “Pamela and I knew what to do.”

Of filming a threesome, Neeson said, “That was a first,” noting that the scene “had to be specifically choreographed.”

He also confirmed that not everything on screen was his, especially a close-up shot of his rear end: “I wish you could say it was mine. It’s not,” he joked.

Writers Dan Gregor and Doug Mand previously told Metro that the scene was unlike anything Neeson had done before.

“This is a spoiler,” Gregor said, “but he has a great … very strange love scene that I believe has to be the strangest sex scene of his life.”

Mand added: “Every day was the strangest thing. Every scene is like, ‘Liam Neeson is doing this?’”

Off-screen, Neeson and Anderson’s chemistry has fueled reports of a romance, especially after several affectionate press tour appearances.

When pressed about the dating rumors during an interview on Today, Neeson deflected with humor.

“What? I don’t understand the question,” he said. “I had never met Pamela before. We met on set. And we discovered we had a lovely, budding chemistry as two actors. Like, ‘Oh, this is nice. Let’s not mould this. Let’s just let it breathe,’ and that’s what we did.”
