Loews Hotels & Co will replace the Sheraton Arlington Hotel with the new Americana by Loews Hotels, a 507-room property set to begin construction in summer 2026.
Loews Hotels & Co has announced plans to open Americana by Loews Hotels in Arlington, Texas, marking its third hotel in the city’s Entertainment District. The new property will be constructed on the site of the existing Sheraton Arlington Hotel, which is scheduled for demolition in early June. Construction on the new hotel is set to begin this summer.
Americana by Loews Hotels will offer 507 guest rooms, including 39 suites. Standard room sizes will range from 350 to 400 square feet. The property will be the 28th hotel in the Loews Hotels & Co portfolio.
The hotel is designed to serve meetings and events, with more than 83,000 square feet of total indoor and outdoor meeting and event space. Indoor meeting space will total 44,789 square feet, including a 17,337-square-foot grand ballroom, a 10,000-square-foot event barn, a 6,808-square-foot junior ballroom, and 10,644 square feet of breakout rooms. Pre-function space will add approximately 24,000 square feet, though this is not included in the total meeting space calculation.
Outdoor event space will total 38,651 square feet, featuring a 23,820-square-foot event lawn, a 7,633-square-foot pool terrace, a 2,760-square-foot junior ballroom terrace, a 2,272-square-foot three-meal terrace, and a 2,168-square-foot grand ballroom and boardroom terrace.
With the addition of Americana by Loews Hotels, the company’s Arlington campus will comprise three hotels, totaling 1,695 guest rooms and more than 374,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space.
Americana by Loews Hotels will be the brand’s 28th property, and its name pays tribute to the iconic Americana Hotel in Bal Harbour, Florida — a Loews landmark that opened in 1956.
No opening date for Americana by Loews Hotels was provided in the announcement. The company stated that demolition of the Sheraton Arlington Hotel and the start of construction for the new property are planned for early summer.
