When it comes to looking pulled together without a ton of thought, I frequently lean into my love for matching sets. Even if you have to buy the pieces separately, knowing two items were designed to go together just takes all of the guesswork out of assembling a great outfit. I mean, I can pull together an ensemble that works together, but it’s going to take a lot longer than if I’m handed something that was already meant to be a chic outfit.

I can’t be the only person who suddenly faces a mental style block when faced with their own wardrobe in the morning, with only 20 minutes to figure it all out. It’s not like I have the iconic virtual Clueless closet to make it all happen. As if…

When I was perusing Loft for some comfy, but cute, wide leg pants as we head into fall (to replace my beloved summer linen pants), I found the Lou & Grey Textured Wide Leg Pants, which I instantly fell in love with.

Lou & Grey Textured Wide Leg Pants, $47.97 (reg. $79.95) at Loft

These come in Bittersweet (a rich chocolate) and Deep Delphinium (a pretty blue-green). And not only are they currently on sale, but they each have a coordinating tank top that pairs effortlessly with the pants. And as I mentioned before, that feels like such a win.

What To Pair With These Pants

If you choose not to buy the matching tank, there are plenty of other easy ways to style these pants, that have a popcorn-like texture. Thanks to the elastic waist, you can easily tuck in a fitted t-shirt and pair it with a cute pair of sneakers—perfect for running errands while looking adorable.

Want to dress them up a bit? It’s all about the shoes and accessories. Grab a pair of dainty, but elegant, earrings and a pair of pretty flats. Of course, the a classy, but not overly showy, handbag helps, too. You’re looking for quiet luxury here, not tons of flash.

How to Wash Them

Fortunately the Lou & Grey Textured Wide Leg Pants are a 98% Polyester and 2% Spandex (for that bit of stretch) blend. That means these are completely machine washable, no dry cleaning needed. This blend is durable and low-maintenance. Wash them in cold water on a gentle cycle to help keep the fibers strong and the shape intact. Skip the bleach and fabric softener, since both can wear down the stretch. Tumble dry on low heat or hang them up to air dry—high heat can damage the spandex and make the fabric lose its stretch over time. If they need a touch-up, a low-heat iron or a quick steam does the trick.
