LXR Hotels & Resorts to Open First Australian Property on Gold Coast in Early 2027

Hilton has announced the signing of a hotel on the Gold Coast’s Southport Spit with Islander Hotel Trading Pty Ltd, which will introduce the LXR Hotels & Resorts brand to Australia in early 2027 following a renovation.

Hilton has signed an agreement with Islander Hotel Trading Pty Ltd to bring the LXR Hotels & Resorts brand to Australia for the first time. The property, located on the Gold Coast’s Southport Spit, is scheduled to open in early 2027 after a renovation. The hotel is currently operating as The Imperial Hotel and was formerly known as Palazzo Versace.

Upon relaunch under the LXR Hotels & Resorts brand, the hotel will feature 200 rooms with neoclassical architecture and Italian-inspired interiors. The property offers direct access to the Gold Coast Broadwater and is near attractions such as Marina Mirage.

This signing marks LXR Hotels & Resorts’ first entry into the Australian market. Globally, LXR Hotels & Resorts has 36 properties either operating or in the pipeline. Recent openings for the brand include Cameo Beverly Hills and Sax Paris, with additional properties planned in Santorini and India later this year. The brand has also announced plans to expand across Asia Pacific in destinations such as Niseko, Phuket, and Da Nang.

The Gold Coast property will join Hilton’s collection portfolio in Australia, which includes Curio Collection by Hilton and Tapestry Collection by Hilton. The hotel will participate in Hilton Honors, the guest loyalty program for Hilton’s 26 hotel brands.
