Machine Gun Kelly revealed what Taylor Swift told him after the Kansas City Chiefs and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2025 Super Bowl.
“It was funny,” MGK, 35, recalled of his conversation with Swift, 35, ahead of the game during his appearance on the Wednesday, August 6, episode of ABC News Live. “I was in Travis’ suite and at the beginning of it, Taylor was like, ‘Hell yeah we’re gonna come watch you perform. It’s gonna be crazy tonight.’”
While MGK watched the game alongside Swift in Kelce’s suite, he was also scheduled to perform at the Chiefs pre-planned afterparty. “Internally, I was stoked. I was like, ‘Oh what a legendary night this is gonna be,'” he recalled of the gig.
Despite initially being excited for the big game, MGK said that the energy changed when the Eagles took a 24-point lead against the Chiefs in the first half.
“By the third quarter, I was looking at that score,” he recalled. “I went up to Taylor and I was like, ‘Y’all aren’t coming tonight, huh?’ She was like, ‘I don’t think so, man. I’ll see if I can get him to get out.’”

Swift and Kelce, 35, both opted to skip the afterparty after the Chiefs’ loss, though MGK was committed to perform for a bunch of disappointed Chiefs players.
“Don’t ever sign yourself up for that,” MGK, who is good friends with Kelce, jokingly said of the show. “Wait to sign the paper until you find out, until third quarter or something. Until it looks like it’s going one way or the other.”
Despite the concert not going as planned, MGK was able to find a silver lining in the situation. “I just rock with them,” he said. “It was a pleasure obviously. I felt honored to be asked to perform it.”
