Majestic mountains surround an Alberta lake with turquoise water and a sandy beach

31 May 20252 Mins Read

Wild Rose Country’s sun-soaked season might be short, but it packs a punch, especially if spent on the stunning shores of Lake Edith in Jasper National Park — an Alberta gem with so much to see.

Located just minutes from the Jasper Townsite, Lake Edith has a mountain view that will knock your flip-flops off.

Here, visitors can take photos, spend an afternoon floating on a paddleboard, kayaking, or jump into the glacier-fed waters, if they’re brave enough.

If, of course. You’d like to enjoy the scenery without dipping your toes, there’s also a quiet dock and soft sand where you can get a tan or build a castle.

Edith is your oyster, but you’ll want to plan ahead.

Surrounded by scenic peaks and towering trees, this stunning lagoon has one of Canada’s most magical beaches, but there’s so much more to the area than meets the eye.

Two beaches are better than one

Feeling antsy? You’re in luck because right next door, you’ll also find Lake Annette, another beautiful spot with plenty of perks.

From picnic areas and metal fire rings to playgrounds and hiking trails. Visitors will have no shortage of things to do during their stay.

If you’re interested and are a fun-seeker, a picnic pro, or just want to unplug, Lake Edith should be on your list of go-to destinations, but so should Annette.

In addition to another beach, Edith’s sister’s lake also has a 5.7-kilometre hike (one way) through a subalpine forest; however, don’t hesitate if you’re interested in checking it out.

Lake Edith and Lake Annette actually share a parking lot, which has only 164 spaces.

The busiest times are usually between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., so you’ll want to be prepared.

It’s going to be one steamy season, and nothing like an icy lake to beat the heat.

Happy visiting, and bring snacks. Maybe we’ll see you out there!

Where: Lake Annette Rd, Jasper, Alta.
