Marriott International has introduced the Autograph Collection Hotels to South Asia with the opening of The Soaltee Kathmandu, Autograph Collection in Nepal.

Marriott International has expanded its global portfolio by launching the Autograph Collection Hotels in South Asia, starting with The Soaltee Kathmandu, Autograph Collection. This marks the 19th brand by Marriott in the South Asia region, which includes India, Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.

Located in the heart of Kathmandu, The Soaltee Kathmandu features 285 rooms, including suites. The hotel is situated on 12 acres of landscaped grounds in the Tahachal area of the city. This property, with a history dating back to 1966, has been a notable destination for various dignitaries and celebrities over the years.

The hotel’s design incorporates traditional Nepalese motifs and contemporary elements, reflecting the cultural heritage of Nepal. Guest rooms and suites are designed with a blend of local artistry and modern amenities. The property offers panoramic views of the Himalayan range and the Swoyambhunath Stupa.

Dining options at The Soaltee Kathmandu include the Garden Terrace, an all-day dining restaurant; Kakori, which features Awadhi-Indian specialties; Bao Xuan, offering authentic Chinese cuisine; and Patio, which provides open-air dining with live music. The hotel also houses Rodi Bar and the Sports Lounge for entertainment and drinks.

For wellness and recreation, the hotel offers a spa with a variety of treatments, an outdoor swimming pool, a tennis court, and a fully equipped 24-hour fitness center. The Soaltee Kathmandu also features 25,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space, suitable for large gatherings and celebrations.

The hotel incorporates several sustainability initiatives, including energy-efficient systems, an in-house water bottling plant, and the use of locally sourced materials. These efforts are part of the hotel’s commitment to eco-friendly practices.
