  • Marriott International has signed an agreement with VERKEHRSBUERO HOSPITALITY to open five hotels in Austria, introducing more than 1,100 rooms across the Tribute Portfolio, AC Hotels, and Four Points Flex by Sheraton brands.
  • The hotels, which are expected to be converted from existing VERKEHRSBUERO HOSPITALITY properties under the Austria Trend Hotels brand, signify a strategic shift in the Austrian hospitality industry.

Marriott International Inc. has announced a significant expansion in the Austrian market through a new agreement with VERKEHRSBUERO HOSPITALITY. The deal will see five existing VERKEHRSBUERO HOSPITALITY properties converted into Marriott-branded hotels, adding more than 1,100 rooms to Marriott’s Austrian portfolio.

The properties will span Marriott’s Tribute Portfolio, AC Hotels, and Four Points Flex by Sheraton brands. This includes the anticipated debut of the Four Points Flex by Sheraton brand in Austria.

VERKEHRSBUERO HOSPITALITY is taking a pivotal step in the Austrian hospitality industry by converting its five Austria Trend Hotels. The move aligns with the company’s aim to diversify its portfolio and promote sustainable growth while continuing to provide unique experiences for its guests.

The Four Points Flex by Sheraton brand is set to premiere in Austria with four properties. By the third quarter of 2025, Austria Trend Hotel beim Theresianum is expected to convert to the Four Points Flex by Sheraton Vienna Hauptbahnhof, and Austria Trend Hotel Salzburg Messe will transition into Four Points Flex by Sheraton Salzburg Messe. Austria Trend Hotel Anatol is expected to convert into Four Points Flex by Sheraton Vienna Mariahilf in 2026.

Furthermore, after extensive renovations, Austria Trend Hotel Ananas will transition into a dual-branded hotel, featuring Four Points Flex by Sheraton Vienna Naschmarkt and AC Hotel by Marriott Vienna Naschmarkt.

The historic Parkhotel Schönbrunn will join Marriott’s Tribute Portfolio as part of the multi-deal agreement. Located near Schönbrunn Palace, the landmark hotel combines Viennese elegance with top-tier comfort.

Marriott’s portfolio in Austria includes 21 properties and nearly 4,000 rooms. The country hosts 14 of the company’s brands, serving various experiences across traveler segments and travel purposes.
