Marriott International has revealed plans to open a 2,179-room Courtyard by Marriott hotel in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The company has signed an agreement with Al Qimmah Hospitality Company and Amwaj Real Estate Company, both subsidiaries of BinDawood Trading, for the project. The Courtyard by Marriott Makkah Al Naseem is expected to open in 2026 and will become the largest hotel under the brand globally.
Dr. Abdul Razzaq BinDawood, Chairman of Al Qimmah, stated that this agreement aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 framework. This initiative aims to position the country as a global religious and cultural tourism hub. Developing high-quality towers in the Al Naseem District is part of the commitment to serve guests and travelers to the Holy Mosque.
Chadi Hauch, Regional Vice President, Lodging Development, Middle East, Marriott International, expressed satisfaction with expanding their relationship with Al Qimmah Hospitality and BinDawood Trading. He noted that the agreement represents Marriott’s commitment to supporting the growth of Saudi Arabia’s tourism sector.
The Courtyard by Marriott brand is recognized for its sophisticated design elements and amenities, offering travelers an enhanced experience. The Makkah Al Naseem establishment will feature guest rooms across seven interconnected towers. It will also include a restaurant with a capacity of more than 1,800 guests, a lobby lounge, and The Market, the brand’s signature grab-and-go market. The design plans reflect the brand’s timeless, classic style with inviting spaces and excellent service.
The Courtyard by Marriott Al Naseem signing aligns with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 framework, which promotes the country as a global hub for religious and cultural tourism. By 2030, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia hopes to host 30 million religious tourists.
