Rendering of the Cape Town EDITION Hotel
Marriott International and V&A Waterfront Holdings have signed an agreement to open The Cape Town EDITION at the V&A Waterfront by 2026.
Marriott International has announced a partnership with V&A Waterfront Holdings to open The Cape Town EDITION, marking the debut of the EDITION Hotels brand in Africa. The new hotel is scheduled to open in 2026 and will be located within the V&A Waterfront, a prominent destination in Cape Town.
The Cape Town EDITION will feature 142 guest rooms and suites. The development will also include a rooftop bar, spa, pool, and various meeting and event facilities. Additionally, the project will incorporate six private residences known as The Residences at The Cape Town EDITION.
The architectural design of the hotel and residences will be undertaken by Shanghai-based firm Neri & Hu, in collaboration with local architect and design firm StudioMAS. The design aims to blend modern style with local character.
The location at the V&A Waterfront offers views of the Atlantic Ocean, the City Bowl, and notable landmarks such as Table Mountain, Lion’s Head, and Signal Hill. The V&A Waterfront is a popular destination in Africa, known for its attractions, dining, and retail, and for its proximity to the Granger Bay development.
The project represents a strategic expansion for Marriott International, introducing the EDITION brand to the African continent.
