Matthias Kindl has been appointed as the General Manager of Mandarin Oriental Palace, Luzern, effective August 4, 2025

Matthias Kindl has been appointed as the General Manager of Mandarin Oriental Palace, Luzern, with his tenure beginning on August 4, 2025. Kindl transitions to this role following his position as General Manager at Mandarin Oriental Bosphorus, Istanbul, where he served from February 2024 to July 2025.

Kindl takes over from Christian Wildhaber, who has moved to the role of General Manager at Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta. Wildhaber was instrumental in the pre-opening and launch of Mandarin Oriental Palace, Luzern, following its extensive renovation and restoration.

Kindl’s career in hospitality spans over 28 years, with significant experience in managing operations at various Mandarin Oriental properties worldwide. His previous roles include overseeing operations in Kuala Lumpur and managing the launch of food and beverage outlets in Abu Dhabi, Taipei, and Sanya.

In his new position, Kindl will be responsible for maintaining the standards of Mandarin Oriental Palace, Luzern, which reopened in 2022 after a comprehensive restoration.
