The Wild Robot, Sirens, and Fear Street: Prom Queen – Picture Credits: Universal Pictures and Netflix

Welcome along to another look ahead at the Netflix roster for the next seven days. It’s going to be a quieter week compared to some over the past few weeks, but there are some big Netflix Originals on the way, including a new Fear Street movie and a series headlined by Julianne Moore.

All of the below is in addition to weekly episode drops of The Devil’s Plan, Heavenly Ever After, K-foodie Meets J-foodie, News Anchor, One Piece, The Blank Menu for You, Tastefully Yours, Try? Choo-Ry!, Two Husbands One Wife, Witch Watch, and Yaiba: Samurai Legend.

Live events this week on Netflix US include WWE Raw (Monday), Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney (Wednesday), and Pop the Balloon Live! (Thursday).

For more on what’s coming up throughout the remainder of May, keep it locked here on What’s on Netflix.

The 5 Best Netflix Original Movie Sequels

Most Anticipated New Releases on Netflix This Week

Sirens (Limited Series)

Coming to Netflix: Thursday

Every Summer, it seems now, we’re getting a high-profile drama series stacked with some of Hollywood’s biggest stars. Last year, it was the role of The Perfect Couple (rumored for a season 2), and this year, it’s the role of Sirens, a new limited drama series that comes from Maid, easily one of the best limited series in Netflix history. We’ll cover the synopsis in a second, but if you want to go in blind with just a quick pitch, allow us to throw this out there: Julianne Moore as a cult leader. Hooked? Good!

“Worried about her sister’s too-close relationship with her billionaire boss, a scrappy everywoman seeks answers at a lavish seaside estate,” reads the synopsis of the multi-part series also featuring Glenn Howerton, Meghann Fahy, and Milly Alcock.

Fear Street: Prom Queen (2025)

Coming to Netflix: Friday

Rewind several years ago, and you may remember Netflix rocked the summer with not one, not two, but three Fear Street movies over the course of several months. They were all moderately successful and now the horror franchise, based on the works of R.L. Stine is back with a brand new solo entry that takes us back to Shadyside High School.

Prom season is in full force at the school, with our protagonists coming from a wide range of groups at the school. It soon becomes clear that the prom of 1988 is going to be a bloody affair after numerous candidates for the role of Prom Queen begin disappearing. The new film features a mix of both big up-and-coming talent and some recognizable names. Amongst the cast list are India Fowler, Suzanna Son, Fina Strazza, Chris Klein, David Iacono, Ella Rubin, Ariana Greenblatt, with Lili Taylor and Katherine Waterston.

The Wild Robot (2024)

Coming to Netflix: Saturday

I don’t often get on my high horse when it comes to the Oscars, but believe me when I say, The Wild Robot was absolutely robbed. With that out of the way, if you haven’t caught this DreamWorks Animation movie that will leave you with a warm, fuzzy feeling inside, you’ll get your opportunity to on Netflix following its initial three-month stint on Peacock.

Featuring the voices of Mark Hamill, Matt Berry, and Ving Rhames, the movie follows a robot known as Roz who has been shipwrecked on an abandoned island and must learn to adapt to his new surroundings.
