McDonald's New International Menu Has Fans Begging for a U.S. Release: 'What About Us'

7 August 20252 Mins Read

A pink-colored Instagram post has sent American Hello Kitty fans into a collective tailspin, sparking a wave of online drama. The cause? McDonald’s has once again debuted an outrageously cute menu abroad, and this time, the U.S. isn’t invited to the Hello Kitty-themed party.

Four new Hello Kitty treats have just dropped at McDonald’s locations in Brazil. The new menu, which popped up on Instagram, features decadent desserts with tutti frutti syrup, balls of vanilla dough, and the undeniable star: a perfect donut dipped in strawberry icing and covered in sprinkles. It’s a Kawaii-lover’s dream come true, and for American fans, a beautiful nightmare.

The reaction was immediate and intense, unfolding like a dramatic play in the comments section. It began with simple, gut-punch declarations of envy. “i’m so jealous,” one user wrote, while another simply stated, “Need that looks good.”

But polite longing quickly escalated into a full-blown fan rebellion. The frustration was palpable as fans tagged the fast-food giant directly. “why does everyone get better stuff @mcdonalds I want this in America!” one user demanded, speaking for thousands. “What about us,” asked another.

As the FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) reached a fever pitch, some fans were ready to take drastic measures, their passports practically in hand. “Welp I’m going to Brazil I guess,” one user declared, perfectly capturing the half-joking, half-serious desperation. Another pleaded for a domestic drop, begging, “Come to the United States.”

The Instagram post showcasing the treats suggested they would be the “perfect compliment to the Happy Meal,” a comment that only twisted the knife for nostalgic fans who grew up on the iconic red box. But it was one plea that captured the spirit of the movement, proving that the love for Sanrio’s famous feline knows no age limit.

“PLEASE bring these to the US!! Sincerely, a grown woman unashamed to be OBSESSED with Hello Kitty,” she wrote, becoming an instant hero for an entire demographic of fans.

The American market wants their cute-themed treats, and they want them now. The only question that remains is whether McDonald’s will heed the call of the masses, or if a legion of Hello Kitty devotees will have to start checking flight prices to Brazil to get their fix.
