Amid Oscar and Emmy wins, critically praised performances and Aquaman, balancing her home life and Hollywood career is A Family Affair for Nicole Kidman. The Babygirl actress prioritizes her children and husband Keith Urban above the glitz and glamor of going out as an A-Lister (been there, done that, she’s said), traveling with them on jobs and even eating breakfast and dinner together every day.
“Even with what I’ve got now, I’ve been able to juggle things to accommodate my family, which is a fantastic thing,” she told CBS recently in an extended video interview. “I enjoy my home, I enjoy my family and I enjoy my work,” she added, crediting her tight-knit group of friends for support.
With a cozy home life (and forgoing being a “party girl”) Kidman said she is ecstatic about getting into her PJ’s at the end of a long day — perhaps a little too ecstatic, saying she’s instated a rule in her house about not wearing pajamas before 5 p.m. (truly a slippery slope for us all).

Read on for everything there is to know about Kidman’s four children and how she once almost quit acting to focus on being a mom.
How many kids does Nicole Kidman have?
The Big Little Lies actress has four children: two each with ex-husband Tom Cruise, who she was married to from 1990 to 2001, and husband Keith Urban, whom she wed in 2006. The prolific star has been vocal about her struggles with fertility, opening up in a 2018 interview about a miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy she had prior to her split with Cruise, as well as being told she would possibly never conceive a child.
Her first two children, Isabella Kidman Cruise and Connor Cruise, are adopted. Meanwhile, Kidman naturally birthed her third child, Sunday Rose Kidman Urban — an event she has described as a “miracle” given her past complications. Her fourth child, Faith Margaret Kidman Urban, was welcomed via gestational surrogate, but is the biological child of Kidman and Urban.
“I wish I’d had more children, but I wasn’t given that choice,” the Eyes Wide Shut star told Marie Claire Australia in a cover story in 2021. “I would’ve loved 10 kids, but that’s OK because I get to mother other children. I have six nieces and nephews and I’m godmother to 12. I love mothering, I love kids: they’re quirky, funny and unfiltered. And then you get to see them grow and send them on their way.”
Kidman has also emphasized the importance of speaking about her fertility issues, as it takes the “onus off it” for other women, adding that she is motivated to “stay healthy and vibrant” to take care of her children as an older mom.
Who are the fathers of Nicole Kidman’s children?
Kidman has two kids with both Tom Cruise and Keith Urban. Her oldest two children, Isabella Kidman Cruise and Connor Cruise were adopted by Kidman and Cruise, while Sunday Rose Kidman Urban and Faith Margaret Kidman Urban are her biological children with Keith Urban.

Who are Nicole Kidman’s kids?
The Nine Perfect Strangers actress has said previously that all of her children are artistically inclined — not exactly a surprise growing up in homes with powerhouse actors and musicians. Indeed, all of the multihyphenate’s kids have dabbled in the entertainment industry, founding creative businesses and even appearing as extras on some of her projects.

Isabella Kidman Cruise, 32
Kidman and Cruise adopted their first child shortly after her birth in Miami Dec. 22, 1992, after having lost a baby early on in their marriage. She grew up with Cruise in Beverly Hills and was raised in the Church of Scientology. While she has mostly stayed out of the spotlight, she made headlines after marrying I.T. consultant Max Parker in a secret and intimate London wedding in 2015; while Cruise reportedly paid for the nuptials, People stated that neither parent was in attendance due to the couple’s desire to keep the affair private. Her younger brother (below) was also reportedly absent.
Prior to a career in fashion with the launch of eponymous brand BKC, Bella Kidman Cruise graduated from the prestigious Delmar Academy of Make-up and Hair in West London. The up-and-coming designer got her start working for then-step-mother Katie Holmes’ since-shuttered clothing line, Holmes & Yang.
While the artist maintains an Instagram presence, it is largely dedicated to her projects and work. Her website boasts limited edition prints, tees, totes, pins and more. “Bella has been drawing ever since her wee hands could pick up a pen. Since that point in time she’s been evolving in her arts,” a partial web bio reads.

Connor Cruise, 29
Connor Cruise was adopted from Florida shortly following his birth Jan. 17, 1995. He grew up in Los Angeles and appeared in several projects as a child, including the Will Smith vehicle Seven Pounds, where he portrayed a young version of the lead. He was also in 2012’s Red Dawn, opposite Chris Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson, and has performed as a DJ.
Since stepping away from the silver screen, Connor Cruise has kept up a relatively quiet life, enjoying and competing in deep-sea fishing. Per a 2018 People article, he maintains a residence in Clearwater, Fla., near the Scientology headquarters there, where his father also has a prized multi-million dollar penthouse property.
Like his older sister, Connor Cruise operates a lowkey social media presence, occasionally posting about golfing or fishing. He also has a barbecuing business, called Connor’s Meatshack. Last year, he was spotted alongside his father and older sister in a rare outing for a Tampa Bay Lightning hockey game, captured in a post by former NFL linebacker Derrick Brooks. He was also present during Milan Fashion Week early last year.
Like Holmes, Kidman has chosen not to comment on Scientology and the role the belief and institution has had on her former marriage and relationship to her older children. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter in 2013, the actress said, “I’ve chosen not to speak publicly about Scientology. I have two children who are Scientologists — Connor and Isabella — and I utterly respect their beliefs.” Vanity Fair’s 2012 Scientology exposé and Lawrence Wright’s 2013 Going Clear book both claim the Church turned her children against her, which is not a matter she commented on, THR reported.
In 2018, she repeated the sentiment of privacy concerning her older children, telling Australia’s Who magazine: “I’m very private about all that. I have to protect all those relationships. I know 150% that I would give up my life for my children because it’s what my purpose is.”
Sunday Rose Kidman Urban, 16
Sunday Rose Kidman Urban was born July 7, 2008 in Nashville, where Kidman and Urban were living on a farm. Recently, the actress told CBS that it was around this time she was thinking of stepping away from her craft, and it was her late mother who encouraged her to reconsider.
“’Just listen to me. I think, keep moving forward. Not saying that you have to do it to the level you’ve been doing it, but I wouldn’t give it up completely,’” Kidman recalled her mother saying to her.
Speaking in a 2018 Time 100 interview, Kidman shared that Sunday has shown “an interest in directing,” which is a path she wants to help her daughter cultivate. The year prior, the actress told E! News that her daughter was cast in the school play: “So, that’s been the main priority, learning lines with her.”
Sunday and her younger sister Faith (below), stepped into the limelight with their red carpet debut earlier this year at the AFI Life Achievement Award Gala, where their mom was the night’s honoree. In October, Sunday followed the appearance up with another debut, this time on the runway as part of Miu Miu’s spring/summer 2025 Paris Fashion Week show.
“I’ve been wanting to do this for so long,” she told Vogue ahead of the show. “So when the offer came through, it was really exciting and now the day’s finally here.”
Faith Margaret Kidman Urban, 13
Faith Margaret Kidman Urban was born Dec. 28, 2010 via a surrogate, with her middle name honoring Kidman’s grandmother. Kidman has spoken about wanting to keep Sunday and Faith’s lives and childhoods private, joking with Ellen DeGeneres that they are “not allowed” to appear on the latter’s show despite an open invitation. During that appearance, she also revealed that Sunday and Faith were extras in the second season of Big Little Lies. A year later, the two sisters made their film debuts by voicing baby birds in Angry Birds 2.
In a 2020 Glamour U.K. article, Kidman shared that the pandemic lockdown was difficult for her younger children, who were having to adapt to online learning and social distancing away from friends. “They are working through the emotions. For a 12-year-old, it’s about not being able to access friends easily — that’s a whole thing which every parent will be going through. And then, there’s a nine-year-old, who’s socially forming. One of the hardest things is just watching them pine and yearn for their friends. I pine and yearn for my friends too,” she said at the time.
Earlier this month, Faith supported her mom in a rare outing at The Hollywood Reporter‘s Annual Women In Entertainment Gala at The Beverly Hills Hotel, where Kidman was receiving the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award.
In her acceptance speech reflecting on the recent loss of her own mother, Kidman called Faith a “mentor” and “guide” for sharing her “wisdom.” “Last night, in the name of trying to do it all, I was at the choir concert watching her sing. We then got on a plane, and we came here and I started crying because my mama loved choir, and she loved education. Suddenly, it was three months down the track from losing her, but I’m seeing my daughter stand there with her whole future ahead of her.”
