Meghan Markle Reveals Thoughts on Future After Pregnancy Video Backlash

7 June 20252 Mins Read

Meghan Markle is looking forward to a bright future, despite facing criticism over her recent video that went viral.

The Duchess of Sussex expressed her optimism on Saturday, June 7 in a new Instagram post from her brand, As Ever, writing that she’s “so excited for all the good to come,” in the caption. The post featured a photo of Markle dressed in a white sleeveless dress, hands through her hair as she walked through the waves on the beach. “Running into the weekend like 🌊,” she finished the caption.

The post comes just after Markle and Prince Harry were mocked online for a video shared earlier this week. The video, which was filmed in 2021, showed Markle and the Prince dancing to the viral “Baby Momma Dance Song” while waiting for the birth of their daughter, Princess Lilibet.

In the clip, Markle, 43, held her pregnant belly while dancing — even busting a twerk here and there — in a hospital room, with Harry, 40, joining her in the groove. In the caption, Markle explained that the couple had tried various methods to induce labor before turning to dancing as a last resort: “Both of our children were a week past their due dates… so when spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn’t work – there was only one thing left to do! 😂.” Despite the explanation, the video was met with criticism from some followers, some calling her moves “trashy” and “cringey.”

However, the royal couple have continued to focus on their family’s happiness, recently celebrating their daughter’s fourth birthday with a trip to Disneyland. The Duchess posted photos from the family outing on June 6, including moments with Queen Elsa and a Little Mermaid cake, but kept their son Prince Archie, 6, and Lilibet’s faces hidden for privacy. Markle also kept the comments turned off on all her posts.
