Meliá Hotels International has signed an agreement to open a boutique hotel in Lima, Peru, under The Meliá Collection brand, with phased openings in 2026 and 2027.
Meliá Hotels International has announced plans to open a new boutique hotel in Lima, Peru, as part of The Meliá Collection brand. The project will be located in Lima’s historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and will be developed in two phases. The first phase is scheduled for completion in July 2026 and will include 61 rooms. The second phase, set for July 2027, will expand the hotel to a total of 107 rooms.
The hotel will be situated near significant cultural landmarks, including the Plaza de Armas, Lima Cathedral, and the Government Palace. The site, known historically as Casa de la Pila, has been a notable location in Lima’s cultural and intellectual history. It has been associated with various historical figures and events, including the early days of the newspaper El Comercio.
The property will be managed by Meliá Hotels International and owned by the Peruvian company Hoteles Bera, a collaboration between the Bernui-Tarazona and Ramos-Bernui families. The development has received support from PROMPERÚ, the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Export and Tourism, highlighting its potential to enhance tourism in the area.
This project marks Meliá’s first luxury hotel in Peru and is part of the company’s broader strategy to expand its presence in Latin America. Meliá currently operates two other hotels in Lima: Meliá Lima and INNSiDE Miraflores.
