Meliá Hotels International has announced the addition of Hotel Alejandro I in Salta, Argentina, to its Affiliated by Meliá portfolio. The hotel, located in the city center near Plaza 9 de Julio and Salta Cathedral, will begin operations under the Meliá brand this October.

The Hotel Alejandro I features 167 rooms and offers a range of amenities, including a restaurant, bar, spa, gym, meeting spaces, and parking facilities. Situated 10 kilometers from Martín Miguel de Güemes International Airport, the hotel is easily accessible from major Argentine cities and international destinations, including São Paulo, Lima, Asunción, and Panama. The airport’s connectivity is expected to benefit both leisure and business travelers.

The decision to include Hotel Alejandro I in its portfolio aligns with Meliá’s strategy to expand its presence in Latin America, focusing on destinations with significant tourism and cultural potential. Salta is recognized for its colonial architecture and vibrant cultural scene, making it a strategic location for the hotel group.

Meliá Hotels International currently operates five hotels in Argentina and has plans for four additional projects in the region.
