The beloved actress, 55, who worked her way into our hearts as Sookie on Gilmore Girls, became a comedy legend with roles in films like Bridesmaids, The Heat, Spy, and St. Vincent. Her role on Mike & Molly earned her critical acclaim and a bevy of acting awards, and her appearances on Saturday Night Live have gone down in comedy history. But her recent red carpet appearance at the Fashion Trust Awards blew us away. Revealing a dramatic weight loss transformation, the stunning actress showed off a svelte figure in a golden Pucci gown. With her hair pulled back into a ponytail, McCarthy epitomized ’70s chic and looked happy and healthy.

McCarthy herself has spoken about her weight loss journey, sharing in a May 2018 interview with Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club that she had been losing “a lot” of weight gradually, over the course of five years.
“I think everybody’s always kind of working on something,” she said. “And I was like, ‘If I can de-stress and just do it slower and stop constantly trying to be on something.’ And then it actually worked better instead of being like, ‘I’m gonna not do this and do this and only drink this.’ ”
McCarthy Made Us Laugh at the Bridesmaids Reunion
Last month, McCarthy joined her Bridesmaids costars Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Rose Byrne, and Ellie Kemper for a fun reunion at the Academy Awards inside Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre. It’s hard to believe it’s been 15 years since the beloved comedy hit movie screens!
“We are not good with numbers but we figured out backstage that means we shot this movie in 1883,” Wiig laughed.
McCarthy’s hilarious line, which was jokingly meant to be written by Sentimental Value nominee Elle Fanning, said: “All the things that you’ve done to your faces are very tasteful.” Well, at least it’s the truth!
