The MGM Grand Hotel & Casino has announced a $300 million renovation of its 4,212 rooms and suites in the main tower. The renovation, which will be completed by December 2025, is expected to enhance the overall guest experience with a modern design inspired by the disco era. The new rooms will be available for reservation starting from March 1, 2025.
Mike Neubecker, President & COO of MGM Grand, stated that the new rooms and upcoming attractions demonstrate their commitment to improving the guest experience for both leisure and business travelers. The renovation marks a significant milestone in the property’s evolution as MGM Grand prepares for future developments in the south end of The Strip.
The remodel, designed by global architecture firm Gensler in partnership with MGM Resorts Design & Development, will exhibit a blend of disco-era glamour with modern elements. The rooms will be designed to meet the needs of modern travelers, focusing on functionality, comfort, and style. Bathroom upgrades include spacious walk-in showers with glass enclosures and bright porcelain finishes. Integrated closets with mirrored, illuminated interiors will be installed for better storage and organization.
The remodel will also add 111 suites to the main tower, bringing the total to 753. These suites will feature dark ebony and walnut wood finishes, light tones, and sheer roller shades. The suites will also have new showers, double mirrors, reconfigured layouts, and upscale finishes like quartz bathroom benches and illuminated mirrors.
Apart from the room and suite redesign, MGM Grand plans to introduce several new dining venues and attractions. These include the opening of Netflix Bites, a restaurant inspired by popular Netflix shows, and Palm Tree Beach Club, a tropical-themed day club by DJ Kygo’s Palm Tree Crew.
The hotel has cautioned that while they aim for the remodel to be completed as planned, potential risks related to the design, timing, and costs of the renovation project could cause actual results to differ.
