Treasure Island Resort & Casino has reopened its Buffalo Tower following a comprehensive renovation led by Knutson Construction, introducing redesigned accommodations and upgraded amenities at the 246-room hotel tower.
Treasure Island Resort & Casino has reopened its Buffalo Tower hotel following a major renovation. The Buffalo Tower, originally opened in 1995 as the property’s first hotel tower, now features 246 redesigned rooms and suites. The remodeling, led by Knutson Construction, included a full interior reconstruction, major system upgrades, and exterior enhancements.
The Buffalo Tower is one of three hotel towers at the property, alongside the Wolf and Eagle towers. The renovation follows a series of expansions at Treasure Island Resort & Casino over the past 10 to 15 years, including The Lagoon indoor water park, the Treasure Island Amphitheater, Wave Spa, and the Wolf Tower.
The renovated Buffalo Tower offers a variety of accommodations, such as family suites with pull-out trundle beds, executive suites overlooking the casino floor, and standard king and two-queen rooms. All guest rooms are nonsmoking and include a refrigerator, new windows, new furniture, USB plug-ins, adjustable reading lights, and an in-room safe. Guest feedback from surveys and comments informed upgrades like luxury vinyl plank flooring, enhanced lighting, oversized rain showerheads, and updated bathrooms.
Executive suites feature a kitchenette with breakfast bar seating and a microwave, a living area with views of the casino floor, a private king bedroom with modern lighting and technology, a pull-out sofa bed, and a bathroom with a soaking tub and walk-in shower. Standard king rooms include a luxury king bed, updated bathrooms, storage, seating, and new amenities.
The Buffalo Tower is located near the gaming floor, Wave Spa, The Lagoon indoor water park, and other resort amenities. An estimated 120,000 guests are expected to stay in the renovated Buffalo Tower in its first year.
The renovation project involved approximately 400 construction personnel in 2025, including members of the Prairie Island Indian Community. Treasure Island Resort & Casino is the largest employer in Goodhue County and one of the region’s top employers.
Knutson Construction, which built the original Buffalo Tower nearly 30 years ago, served as the construction partner for the renovation.
