Movie Monday: ‘Lilo & Stitch’ Continues to Cause Chaos at the Box Office, Best TV Shows to Binge Watch

2 June 20252 Mins Read

No one can say Jumba wasn’t successful. The alien genetically programmed Stitch to cause mayhem. Then, the little blue agent of chaos jumped into the box office.

That’s why you’ll find Lilo & Stitch standing atop all other box office films for the second time since release. In the United States alone, it snatched up another $63 million. In total, that puts its worldwide gross at $611 million.

Maintaining its spot in second place, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning spied out another $27.3 million. In total, it’s made $354 million so far. However, given that it took a rumored $400 million to make, turning a sizeable profit may turn out to be the film’s least possible mission after all.

Box office newcomer Karate Kid: Legends punched its way to third place. While it couldn’t compete against those box office heavy hitters, the sixth film in the Karate Kid franchise still earned $21 million in prize money.

Final Destination Bloodlines continued haunting the top five, raking in another $10.8 million. That’s good for a fourth-place finish. And with a $229 million domestic cume, it also makes the franchise revival the highest grossing Final Destination film in history.

A second horror movie secured the last spot in the top five: Bring Her Back. The unsettling film put $7 million into its pockets. Notably, its entrance into the box office edges Sinners out of the top five for the first time since its release, seven weeks ago. That movie still added another $5.2 million to its $350 million worldwide total.
