MSI’s QD-OLED gaming monitor is very fast and $130 off

28 October 20252 Mins Read

Black Friday is one month away, but MSI didn’t wait to drop the price of its 27-inch Mag 271QP X28 QD-OLED gaming monitor. You can get it for an all-time low price of $519.99 ($130 off) from MSI with the promo code 272QPW40. The display has a 2K (2560 x 1440) resolution, 280Hz refresh rate, and .03ms response time. Many OLED gaming monitors around $500 have a 240Hz refresh rate, which matters when playing fast-paced games like first-person shooters where tenths of a second can make the difference between winning and losing a match.

MSI equipped the X28 with two HDMI 2.1 ports and a Display 1.4a port, all of which can accept a 280Hz 1440p signal if your computer has the right ports. You can connect a current-generation gaming console to the display, but all of them can only output a video signal up to 120Hz. The X28’s port selection allows you to keep a couple of consoles and gaming PC connected at the same time without a splitter.

The X28 mitigates burn in, which can occur if a static image stays on an OLED screen for an extended period of time, by dimming the top and bottom of the display (where task bars are typically located), and giving you the option to move pixels around in these areas every four hours. Moving the pixels is mandatory after 24 hours of continuous use. MSI offers a three-year warranty on the X28 that includes burn in, so you’re covered even if you properly maintain the display.
