Music Icon, 48, Cancels Another Show and Fans Aren't Happy

1 June 20252 Mins Read

Shakira has been forced to cancel another show this week after complications prohibited her team from getting everything set up in Washington D.C. in time.

On May 29, the former Voice coach was slated to perform at Fenway Park in Boston. However, just hours before the scheduled show, there was a stage issue that couldn’t be resolved, resulting in a cancellation, according to TMZ.

On May 31, Shakira was scheduled to take the stage at Nationals Park in Washington D.C., for World Pride 2025, but her production team ran into some issues.

“Due to complications with the previous show in Boston, Shakira’s full tour production cannot be transported to Washington, D.C. in time for her scheduled performance at Nationals Park on Saturday, May 31,” read a message posted on X by the official Nationals Park account.

A short while later, Shakira shared a message on her own social media about the canceled shows.

“Nothing more painful for an artist than having to cancel two sold-out stadium shows like Boston and DC for reasons beyond one’s control,” read a message posted on Shakira’s Instagram Stories on May 31. “Thank you for being there in the good times and the not so good. We’ve cruised together through every bump in the road, and you always take me to the other side. Los quiero con todo.

Fans have since taken to Shakira’s most recent Instagram share to share their feelings on the recently canceled tour dates.

“You need to stop hiring friends as tour managers, that’s enough cancellations for the first leg. Enough!!” one person wrote.

“Im heartbroken. My mom’s birthday gift was going to be you at DC. Is it’s cancelled. This is so unfair,” someone else added.

“And yet Beyoncé’s concerts are way more intricate and has a lot more production and she never has any issues (knock on wood),” a third comment read.

“Does @shakira understand how disrespectful these cancellations are to her fans and to the people who spent thousands of dollars to come see her? Especially for World Pride. Flight and hotel expenses for nothing. Does she even care? The silence from her tells me she doesn’t,” a fourth Instagram user said.

Shakira has more than a dozen additional tour dates lined up through the end of June.
