If you’ve ever wanted to go to one of the most remote places on earth without leaving Calgary, this is your chance. National Geographic Live is bringing an Antarctic-focused presentation to the Jack Singer Concert Hall, showcasing life at the bottom of the world through captivating visuals and powerful storytelling.
Whether you’re interested in science or simply looking to experience something different, this is a chance to see the world through an explorer’s perspective.
About the event
The immersive presentation will be led by National Geographic Explorer Dr. Heather Lynch, an ecologist whose research centres around Antarctic wildlife, particularly penguin populations. With over a decade in the field, she brings real-world experience to the stage.
Through photography and video, audiences will be immersed in Antarctica’s environment while hearing stories from her work there. It highlights how wildlife survives in extreme conditions as well as the beauty of the snowy landscape.
The presentation is around 70 minutes long and is followed by a 20-minute Q&A, giving attendees the chance to connect directly with Dr. Lynch and ask questions about her experiences. Guests who decide to stay after might even have the opportunity to meet her!
Plan your visit
The event will take place at the Jack Singer Concert Hall from Saturday, April 19, to Sunday, April 20, 2026, with showtimes at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are priced between $53.10 and $96.90, depending on seating.
For the best views, orchestra and mezzanine seating are the way to go. It’s recommended to arrive early to give yourself time to find your seats and get settled in before the show.
