NBC’s Night Court Revival Starring Melissa Rauch Finds New Home on Netflix

Order in the court! Netflix US is adding another recent broadcast hit to its licensed library. The complete run of NBC’s Night Court revival series is set to arrive on the platform early next month.

Following its cancellation by NBC in May 2025 after three seasons, the series has been looking for a new streaming home outside of the Peacock ecosystem. It appears Warner Bros. Television (which produces the show) has found a home with Netflix, continuing the newly revived relationship that’s brought many of their titles to Netflix as of late (including another canceled NBC show – Found), plus don’t forget that Netflix is currently purchasing Warner Bros., including its television division. 

We can confirm that Seasons 1-3 (the complete series) of Night Court will be available on Netflix US starting Tuesday, February 3rd, 2026. That’ll be welcome news given that Peacock hasn’t carried the show in any meaningful way in well over a year, with the last batch of episodes yanked in November 2025.

As you may know, the series was unceremoniously canceled in May of last year, following the end of season 3, which brought the total episode count to 47. According to Deadline, there were plans for a shortened fourth and final season, but those were nixed; it did mention the possibility of being shopped elsewhere. 

The classic 9-season run of the original Night Court is currently available on Prime Video (via Freevee), and there is no word yet on whether it will be making the jump to Netflix to join its sequel.

What is the new Night Court about?

A continuation of the beloved 1984 sitcom, the series stars Melissa Rauch (The Big Bang Theory) as Judge Abby Stone, the daughter of the late Harry Stone (originally played by Harry Anderson). Abby follows in her father’s footsteps as she presides over the night shift of a Manhattan arraignment court.

The show’s biggest hook for nostalgic fans is the return of John Larroquette as Dan Fielding. The former skirt-chasing prosecutor returns as a public defender, bringing his signature sarcasm to a new generation of legal chaos.

India de Beaufort, Kapil Talwalkar, Lacretta, Nyambi Nyambi, and Wendie Malick round out the cast. Dan Rubin helmed the reboot. 

The official synopsis reads:

“Unapologetic optimist judge Abby Stone, the daughter of the late Harry Stone, follows in her father’s footsteps as she presides over the night shift of a Manhattan arraignment court and tries to bring order to its crew of oddballs and cynics, most notably former evening court prosecutor Dan Fielding.”
