Managing a single relationship is challenging enough, but for Grammy-winning R&B artist NE-YO, love doesn’t come in a traditional package.
In a candid interview on Kai Cenat’s Mafiathon 3 stream on Wednesday, September 10, the 45-year-old singer revealed more details about his polyamorous relationship with four women, whom he lovingly refers to as his “wives” — though they’re not legally married.
“My love life is phenomenal,” NE-YO shared during the stream. “I’m in a great space. I am currently in a polyamorous relationship. I have four beautiful ladies that move with me on the regular. They’re actually here.”
The multi-platinum artist explained that his choice to live openly in a polyamorous relationship came after his 2022 divorce from Crystal Renay, with whom he shares three children.
“I’m 45 years old,” he said. “At this point in my life, everything I do is about what’s best for me, what’s best for my kids, what’s best for my tribe. That’s it.”
According to NE-YO, the end of his marriage prompted a commitment to honesty — not just with others, but with himself. “I was married before this, to one woman. Things didn’t go well. I made my mistakes. We got divorced, a lot of people got hurt in the process, and I told myself at that moment I ain’t lying to nobody about nothing ever again.”
He described how one of his current partners had already been in his life, and when he realized he had strong feelings for multiple women, he decided to approach the situation with full transparency.
“I went, ‘Listen, you know I rock with you. I absolutely rock with you. But it ain’t just you,'” he recalled. “‘I also rock with her, and her, and her. So what I wanna do is bring this whole thing together.”
NE-YO introduced his four girlfriends in a March Instagram post, where he shared photos and gave each woman a unique nickname.
- Cristina – “Pretty Baby”
- Arielle – “Twin Flame”
- Moneii – “Phoenix Feather”
- Bri – “Sexy Lil’ Somethin’”
He captioned the post, “LADIES AND GENTS I PRESENT MY PYRAMID. Say something nice or move on with your life. We happy over here.”

The women also run a joint Instagram page, where they give fans a glimpse into their unique romance.
For NE-YO, creating a supportive dynamic among his partners is essential. And yes — there’s enough room for everyone to get some shut-eye. He even revealed his preference for Alaskan King beds, which are massive enough to accommodate the group.
“That’s like two California Kings next to each other,” he said. “You gotta get that mattress made.”
Outside of his romantic life, NE-YO is a father of seven children from three previous relationships: Madilyn, 14, Mason, 13, Shaffer Jr., 9, Roman, 6, Isabella, 4, and Braiden and Brixton.
