Netflix Hit With Global Outage With Error Code E100 But Being Restored Now

It’s increasingly rare for Netflix to go down, but May 29th was an exception, with the streamer suffering a global outage. As a result, users were unable to stream episodes or movies across a myriad of devices, with many encountering error code E100. Some are still seeing titles, such as the newly released Dept. Q, missing from their search, but service is being slowly restored.

The errors began appearing at around 2:30 AM BST / 6:30 PT / 9:30 ET, with users unable to stream titles entirely.

DownDetector reports rose to well over 2,000 reporting issues, with people taking to social media and Reddit to complain. The downtime lasted for at least an hour or two. One user said, “This is wild, has this ever happened on Netflix before?!! Feel like all the other apps honestly have been trying to keep up to Netflix and failing, miserably. But now…yikes.”

The Netflix Help Center currently has a banner across the top of the page saying, “You may have problems streaming some titles. Try watching something else, or try again later.” According to the Netflix help page, error code tvq-pb-101 (E100) is accompanied by the message: “This title is not available to watch instantly. Please try another title.”

According to reports, systems are now being restored as of publication, with some recommending that you reboot your application or web browser to reaccess titles that were previously unavailable. On TV devices, this can be done by either hard-resetting your television or navigating to the My Account section and selecting “Reload Netflix”. On mobile, it’s a case of closing the app down and reloading it. If that fails, try restarting your device.

Are you still unable to stream Netflix? Let us know in the comments.
