Netflix has quietly confirmed the release date of its new teen ice-skating series, based on the book by Jennifer Iacopelli. Headlined by Madelyn Keys and Cale Ambrozic, the series is set to premiere on Netflix globally on January 22nd, 2026.

The eight-episode first season, with episodes running approximately 44 minutes each, was first unveiled in January 2025, with a follow-up confirming the cast a couple of months later in March. Production began in mid-February 2025 in Barrie and Orillia, Ontario, and surrounding communities, with filming wrapped by May.

Netflix was originally due to broadcast the series alongside Family Channel in Canada, the network owned by WildBrain. However, as confirmed over the Summer and coming into effect as of October 2025, the network has permanently shut down alongside three others as its distribution deals had been ended. To that end, Netflix is now the sole distributor for the show, at least as far as we know.

Set in the glamorous and competitive world of figure skating, Finding Her Edge follows the three Russo sisters, heirs to a struggling skating dynasty. At the center of the story is 17-year-old Adriana Russo, who is training for the World Championships with a new partner, Brayden, while still harboring feelings for her former partner and first love, Freddie. When Adriana and Brayden pretend to be a couple off the ice to secure a crucial sponsorship, the lines between performance and reality begin to blur as the family’s financially troubled rink hangs in the balance.

The series is led by showrunner and executive producer Jeff Norton, whose credits include Netflix’s Geek Girl and The Small Hand. Norton is joined by executive producers Josh Scherba, Stephanie Betts, and Angela Boudreault for WildBrain. Directing duties are shared between Shamim Sarif and Jacqueline Pepall, while the writers’ room is headed by Shelley Scarrow, with additional scripts from Sabrina Sherif, Norton, and Pepall.

The cast is led by Madelyn Keys as Adriana Russo, alongside Harmon Walsh as Will Russo, Alexandra Beaton as Elise Russo, Cale Ambrozic as Brayden Elliot, and Olly Atkins as Freddie O’Connell. The ensemble also includes Meredith Forlenza, Alice Malakhov, Niko Ceci, and Millie Davis, with additional supporting roles played by Sean Miko Chen, Yona Epstein-Roth, Miley Haik, Aidan Shaw, and Nicole Volossetski.

Speaking about the adaptation, Norton said he was thrilled to bring Iacopelli’s Austen-inspired novel to the screen, describing the series as a story of love, dedication, sacrifice, and redemption. WildBrain’s Angela Boudreault added that the production brings together a strong female-led creative team and a talented cast, with the goal of captivating teen audiences both in Canada and around the world.

Finding Her Edge marks the latest collaboration between WildBrain and Netflix, following past live-action and animated projects such as Degrassi: Next Class, I Woke Up a Vampire, Sonic Prime, and Carmen Sandiego.

Here are all the other new first-look images that have dropped thus far. Stay tuned for the trailer!
