Netflix To Remove Over 20 Mobile Games Including Monument Valley Trilogy and Hades

Netflix Games has had a rough 9 months. While there have been some successes, the relatively new division has experienced major executive changes, the cancellation of projects, and the removal of numerous games from both the mobile and TV library. The bad news continues as we’ve got word that over 20 games are scheduled to depart in July 2025, with highlights including all three Monument Valley games, Carmen Sandiego, and the critically acclaimed Hades.

Netflix game removals aren’t precisely a shock at this point, given that we’ve seen a couple of waves of removals, mostly last December. More recently, we’ve seen several departures from Netflix’s TV and web streaming library. Poinpy from Devolver Digital was the most recent removal in June 2025.

As mentioned above, Netflix has also canceled several releases and planned projects, including Crashlands 2, Tales of the Shire, and Don’t Starve Together, among others. That’s not to mention several projects that were yet to be officially announced that have been quietly canceled, or the fact that Netflix Stories was canceled despite future stories for various Netflix IPs planned.

What games are leaving Netflix in July 2025?

Leaving soon notices have been found on 22 games as of publishing, which represents almost 20% of Netflix’s overall mobile game library. Removals are planned for July 15th, with your “Last day to play” being July 14th.

Here’s a rundown of the departures planned:

  • Battleship
  • Braid, Anniversary Edition
  • Carmen Sandiego
  • CoComelon: Play with JJ
  • Death’s Door
  • Diner Out: Merge Cafe
  • Dumb Ways to Die
  • Ghost Detective
  • Hades (Note: Only available on iOS devices)
  • Katana ZERO
  • LEGO Legacy: Heroes Unboxed
  • Ludo King
  • Monument Valley
  • Monument Valley 2
  • Monument Valley 3
  • Rainbow Six: SMOL
  • Raji: An Ancient Epic
  • SpongeBob: Bubble Pop F.U.N.
  • TED Tumblewords
  • The Case of the Golden Idol
  • The Rise of the Golden Idol
  • Vineyard Valley

You’ll notice that most of the removals are branded or based on IP that’s beyond Netflix’s control. Additionally, you may notice that quite a few of these titles are relatively new releases. Carmen Sandiego, for instance, was only released on Netflix this past January. Monument Valley 3 received a significant marketing push from Netflix and was initially exclusive to the platform, although it’s now scheduled for release elsewhere.

While Netflix intends to continue investing in gaming, sources indicate that its efforts going forward will be primarily focused on the big-screen experience, starting later this year. According to these sources, mobile games will continue to be released, albeit at a slower pace than before, with a focus on select genres that work well, such as big IP acquisitions, kids and family titles, and other titles based on Netflix IP. Therefore, we expect the library of Netflix games to shrink in the coming months and years.

Previously, when we’ve contacted Netflix’s PR team for games for comment on departures, they told us: “Just like with series and film, games will be removed from Netflix as licenses expire. Players will notice a “Leaving Soon” badge and be notified by the app itself well in advance of removal.”

Upcoming games still expected to join Netflix include WWE 2K, Spirit Crossing, and the recently unveiled Netflix Puzzled, which is currently in testing.

Are you disappointed that all these Netflix Games are scheduled to depart in July 2025? Let us know in the comments down below.
