A new boutique hotel is in the works for downtown Lafayette, Louisiana, thanks to a collaboration between Sans Souci Properties, The Thrash Group, and Tandem Hospitality Group. The hotel aims to redefine local hospitality by combining Cajun hospitality, modern amenities, and cultural vibrancy.
The hotel, which will be located in Lafayette’s historic downtown district, will offer 83 rooms, including 2 premiere suites. It will also feature a restaurant in partnership with a yet-to-be-announced local food and beverage operation, an outdoor pool, and a pool bar. Nearly 2,500 sq. ft. of the property will be dedicated to event spaces, making it an ideal venue for various gatherings such as meetings, conferences, weddings, and social events.
Sans Souci Properties, The Thrash Group, and Tandem Hospitality Group are each contributing their unique expertise to make the hotel a standout service and culture hub in the Acadiana region. Sans Souci Properties will provide local knowledge and development assistance, while The Thrash Group will oversee the hotel design to ensure it reflects local flavor and sophistication. Tandem Hospitality Group will manage the day-to-day operations, focusing on delivering an exceptional guest experience.
The project has garnered support from local stakeholders, including Mayor-President Monique Blanco-Boulet, who believes the development will rejuvenate the older parts of Lafayette. The hotel is expected to create jobs, foster economic growth, and renew locals’ sense of pride.
The project is scheduled to begin construction in Q1 2025 and be completed by Summer 2026. Once operational, it is expected to create numerous development and construction jobs and nearly 75 permanent positions.
Several local business leaders have expressed their excitement and support for the project. They believe this development will enhance the downtown experience and attract more visitors, signaling that Downtown Lafayette is primed for further development and growth.
