The wait is almost over for the next chapter of Tyler Perry’s hit drama. After leaving us on the edge of our seats, Netflix has officially confirmed that Beauty in Black Part 2 (Season 2) will premiere this March globally. Here’s some fresh new first looks courtesy of the new trailer and an update on Beauty in Black Part 2, with all 8 episodes of Part 2 confirmed to launch globally on March 19th.
As we’ve previously covered, and according to the updated official synopsis provided by Netflix, the ruthless family behind the beauty brand—and the illicit underground trafficking ring hiding beneath it—is facing a reckoning. The dynamic has shifted dramatically: Kimmie, formerly the unassuming sex worker in their employ, has evolved into an “unstoppable force.”
In exclusive comments to Netflix, the series’s leading ladies shed light on their characters’ mindsets going into these new episodes. Taylor Polidore Williams, who plays Kimmie, suggests her character is done asking for permission: “Kimmie wants to be seen as legitimate. She is done proving she belongs and she’s claiming her place. Doubt definitely fuels her. The difference now is that she understands the cost of power, and she confidently chooses it anyway.”
Meanwhile, Crystle Stewart, who plays Mallory, hints that viewers should expect a more calculated approach from her character, particularly regarding her volatile marriage, telling Netflix, “You definitely see a different side of Mallory in Part 2, a more strategic, emotionally layered version of her. Her relationship with Roy becomes darker, more complicated, and much more dangerous. Mallory didn’t marry Roy out of weakness, she married him with intention.”
