New Indian Movies & Series on Netflix: January 2026

The second-highest-earning Bollywood movie ever was just added to Netflix.

The Hindi spy thriller Dhurandhar was not only the biggest Bollywood movie of 2025, but it ranks in second place all-time among Hindi films at the global box office, behind the sports drama Dangal (also streaming on Netflix). Besides adding that big hit to the catalogue in January, Netflix also debuted the new Original Indian series Taskaree: The Smuggler’s Web.

Haq (2025)

The courtroom drama Haq is based on a landmark Indian case from the 1970s that codified civil alimony requirements in Muslim divorces (which had previously been governed by Islamic law). Yami Gautam Dhar stars as an aggrieved ex-wife who takes her former husband (Emraan Hashmi) to court when he evicts her and her children in favor of a new wife and kids. The movie is inspired by the book Bano: Bharat ki Beti by journalist Jigna Vora, whose memoir Behind Bars in Byculla was adapted as the 2023 Netflix Original Hindi series Scoop.

Akhanda 2: Thaandavam (2025)

This time, China threatens India with biological and spiritual warfare, forcing the twins Bala and Akhanda to use their disparate gifts to save humanity. De De Pyaar De 2 (2025)

The sequel to 2019’s De De Pyaar De (which is not on Netflix) finds Rakul Preet Singh’s Ayesha introducing her decades-older boyfriend Ashish (Ajay Devgn) to her parents in the hopes of getting their approval to wed. When Ayesha’s parents — played by R. Madhavan and Gautami Kapoor — find out their potential future son-in-law is the same age as them, they set out to break up the May-December couple.

Mardaani (2014)

As the eventual streaming home of Mardaani 3 (releasing in theaters January 30), Netflix is helping fans of the crime franchise get ready by adding the first two films to its catalogue. 2014’s Mardaani — which means “Manly” — introduces audiences to Crime Branch Senior Inspector Shivani Shivaji Roy (Rani Mukerji) as she pursues a missing teenage girl into the web of a dangerous human trafficker (played by Looop Lapeta‘s Tahir Raj Bhasin in his breakout role).

Tere Ishk Mein (2025)

Dhurandhar (2025)

Ranveer Singh plays an Indian spy who infiltrates a terrorist outfit in Karachi, Pakistan, spending ten long years orchestrating its demise from within. This is only the first half of a two-part epic, and Netflix paid a hefty sum to buy the streaming rights to both films. Emraan Hashmi plays the leader of a dedicated team of customs officials who travel the world to stop a global smuggling operation that runs through Mumbai’s busy international airport.
