New Releases on Netflix This Week and Top 10 Movies & Series: February 6th, 2025

Welcome to your end-of-week recap of everything new that landed on Netflix in the United States this week. It was a very busy week, thanks mostly to the fact that we crossed into the new month of February, which, as usual, sees a big rotation of titles, and this month was no different. While we’ve already recapped the first-of-the-month additions elsewhere, below we’ll provide you with that list and everything else that dropped, too.

What to Watch on Netflix This Weekend

This week, we’ve got four recommendations for you!

Archive (2020)

Set in the near future of 2038, the film follows George Almore (Theo James), a scientist working in a remote, snow-capped facility on a “true” human-equivalent AI. While his corporate masters think he’s just advancing robotics, George has a much more personal, hidden agenda: he is attempting to resurrect his deceased wife, Jules (Stacy Martin), by uploading her archived consciousness into a prototype.

As he moves toward the final, most advanced iteration (J3), he must navigate the growing jealousy of his earlier, less-sophisticated robotic “daughters” and the looming threat of corporate auditors. It’s a sleek, atmospheric slow-burn that feels like a spiritual cousin to Ex Machina, culminating in a finale that will likely have you hitting the “back” button to see what you missed.

In Inverse’s review, a website dedicated to all things geek and sci-fi, they praised it from top to bottom, calling it a “gorgeous” film with a “gut-punch twist.” They continued, “From set design to cinematography, Archive is a top-notch production. But it’s because of the competency of its two leads that Archive maintains course and avoids disastrous derailment.”

Search Party (Seasons 1-5)

If you missed this gem during its original run on TBS and later HBO Max, now is the perfect time to binge what is arguably one of the best dark comedies of the last decade. We follow Dory (Alia Shawkat), a listless young woman who becomes obsessed with the disappearance of a college acquaintance, Chantal. Dory drags her hilariously self-absorbed friends—the narcissistic Elliott (John Early), the bubbly but vacuous Portia (Meredith Hagner), and her spineless boyfriend Drew (John Reynolds)—into a “Nancy Drew” style investigation that quickly spirals out of control.

What starts as a missing-person mystery evolves wildly each season, morphing into a Hitchcockian legal thriller, a psychological horror, and eventually a surrealist cult odyssey. It’s a show that isn’t afraid to reinvent itself completely every ten episodes, all while maintaining a biting, cynical wit that skewers modern social dynamics.

The Lincoln Lawyer (Season 4)

Mickey Haller is back for the most intense season of The Lincoln Lawyer to date. Bringing to life The Law of Innocence, we find Haller on the receiving end of a court case, given that he’s accused of a murder that served as the major cliffhanger for season 3. 

I’m only partway through this season myself, but I’ve got to say, this show continues to age like fine wine with writing that becomes more refined and potent as the actors continue to find their feet in these roles. Obviously, the quality of the source material plays a big role in the show’s success, but it has quite handily become Netflix’s best lawyer show in its history. 

The Investigation of Lucy Letby (2026)

Genre: Documentary, True Crime
Runtime: 94 mins

True-crime documentaries always do well on Netflix; that much is already known, but one that’s bizarrely dividing opinion in the United Kingdom is the story of Lucy Letby, which is still relatively fresh, given the crimes and subsequent court case only wrapped up recently. The NHS nurse is accused and was subsequently found guilty of committing horrific murders on young babies at a hospital in the North of England. It’s a case that captured the country’s attention and is laid out in stunning detail here, yet some still have her back and defend her quite incredibly.

In the absence of Netflix’s movie slate being basically empty from mid-January through to the latter part of this month, The RIP keeps on chugging along in Netflix’s movie top 10s. Elsewhere in the movie top 10s, though, it’s been plenty busy thanks to the aforementioned first of the month turnover with 25 individual titles cycling in and out throughout the week. Copshop, another movie from director Joe Carnahan, took the second spot with the first of Universal’s new first-window titles, Megan 2.0, rounding out the top 3.

No surprise what’s topped the TV charts this week, with Bridgerton taking a full sweep following the first half of season 4, and we expect this streak to continue all the way through to mid- or late-March 2026. HIS & HERS is still picking up points and headed for all the all-time top 10 at its current pace with Mike Epps latest stand-up special rounding out the top 3.
