Nina Dobrev and Shaun White shocked fans with their breakup — and now they’re noticing a telling social media post made by Dobrev just days before the news broke.
On TikTok Friday, Sept. 5, Dobrev posted a video of herself lip-syncing to a popular TikTok sound. The audio begins, “How do you sleep at night knowing people don’t like you?”
Dobrev lip syncs to the response, which goes, “With no underwear in case they want to kiss my a–.”
Dobrev pauses the lip-sync, and the sound continues, “What’s your advice for women trying to fix their man?” The actress then mouths, “Listen Bob The Builder he’s got 10 other women trying to fix him too and you all look like a d–n construction crew.”

On Thursday, Sept. 11, news broke that the Vampire Diaries alum and the professional snowboarder ended their engagement after five years together.
In an statement to People, an insider close to the couple said: “It was a mutual decision, and wasn’t an easy one, but it was made with love and a deep respect for one another.”
Though the cause of the breakup is unknown, fans believe Dobrev’s cryptic TikTok alludes to White potentially being at fault.
“Well this video makes sense now after the split news,” wrote one fan. “omg, he cheated.” speculated another.
“ohhhhhh. he f–ked UP,” added a third. “Subtext here: he cheated. EVEN THE PRETTY & SUPER COOL ONES, GIRLS!!! IT’S NEVER YOUR FAULT.” said a fourth.
Others compared her energy in the TikTok video to her Vampire Diaries character Katherine Pierce, the evil vampire doppelgänger to Dobrev’s leading lady Elena Gilbert.
Dobrev and White began dating in 2019 before getting engaged in October 2024. The couple first met after being put in a group together at a seminar for Tony Robbins. They moved in together shortly after when the COVID-19 pandemic started.
