No Rapture? Doomsday cult PC game Join Us offers an alternative

28 September 20252 Mins Read

New studio Wolf Haus Games is trying a new spin on the survival genre with Join Us, an upcoming game that will let players build and command their own doomsday cult in preparation for an impending apocalypse. If last week’s no-go on the Rapture left you feeling unprepared for such an event, Join Us might give you some virtual training for the end of days, whenever that rolls around.

Or maybe it’ll just be a fun way to explore your prospects as a cult leader! According to the Quebec-based studio, Join Us will let you design your personal cult’s belief system, recruit followers to your cause, and, like any good modern game, farm.

In satirical (and maybe cynical) fashion, Join Us‘ version of cul-crafting is likened to franchising a Burger King. Under order from your leader, known as The Leader, you can set up a local chapter by establishing a compound and then welcoming impressionable followers into your family. You can also protect (and forcibly expand) your compound with a variety of weapons, including guns, flamethrowers, buses outfitted with machine gun turrets, and “battle pigs.”

Based on the game’s reveal trailer, Join Us will feature a variety of fun apocalyptic scenarios, including climate disasters, mass extinctions, and even Lovecraftian horrors emerging from the earth. Wolf Haus promises to let you experience your doomsday cult simulation solo or with up to four players in co-op.

Wolf Haus Games describes itself as a small, independent game studio (around 14 people) with “more than a century and a half of combined experience across feature films, music videos, and AAA video games, and a passionate love affair with grindhouse cinema.”

Join Us is slated for release on Windows PC in 2026.
