Nobu Plans Hotel and Residences at Monte Rei in Portugal’s Eastern Algarve

The development will be Nobu’s second destination in Portugal and will form the centerpiece of a broader investment program led by Norfin spanning hospitality, residential living, leisure amenities and future additions, including a beach club.

The Nobu Hotel will feature 100 rooms and suites, a signature Nobu restaurant and guest amenities. The project will also include 21,000 square meters of Nobu villas and branded residences.

Monte Rei is set within more than 1,000 acres of countryside in Portugal’s Eastern Algarve and is centered around a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course. The development is located on Portugal’s southern coast.

DSA Architects and Rockwell Group have been appointed to shape the project’s architecture and interiors. Rockwell Group is a long-standing Nobu partner. The design team will develop an architectural and interior vision incorporating the Monte Rei landscape and the character of the Eastern Algarve.

The planned development is part of the next phase at Monte Rei, which will expand the resort’s hospitality, residential and leisure offerings.
