Nosh Robotics’ $1,500 robot chef doesn’t need any help with dinner

10 March 20262 Mins Read

Anyone who finds themselves wishing they could spend less time on meal prep might have a solution in the form of the recently-launched Nosh One from Nosh Robotics, an AI kitchen appliance that can autonomously cook for you.

All users need to do is load their ingredients into the robot’s tray then select a recipe. The Nosh One adds the ingredients into its pot at the appropriate time, stirs everything, uses AI to monitor the ingredients with a built-in camera, and completes the meal without needing any intervention along the way. Nosh’s app notifies users when the meal is ready. They can also use the app to view and edit recipes and schedule meals. The Nosh One is capable of making over 500 dishes, but users can also add their own by describing what they want to cook using natural language and letting the robot’s AI generate a recipe for them.

The robo-chef is available for pre-order on Kickstarter, where it currently starts at $1,499. According to Nosh Robotics, it will begin shipping this summer. Upgrades on Kickstarter include extra accessories and a lifetime subscription to Nosh’s Culinary+, which grants users access to all of the robot’s recipes and the ability to edit and create 50 recipes per year.

The Verge’s Jennifer Pattison Tuohy reviewed a very similar robot last year called Posha, which costs the same price as the Nosh One, features a nearly identical design, and also offers to automate cooking with the help of AI. However, the Nosh One has one significant difference: a fully sealed cooking chamber that can be closed off while cooking. Unlike the Posha, the Nosh One’s pot and stirring arm are completely covered when the robot’s door is closed, which could help prevent splashes and fumes from escaping.
