Nostalgic 'Love Story' Soundtrack Has Gone Viral — Here's How It Was Perfected

In case you haven’t heard, there’s a show that just concluded on FX called Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette.

The critically acclaimed and fan-beloved anthology series has remained extremely popular throughout its run on FX, with all nine episodes now available on Hulu.

Each episode has spawned its own headlines — and just check out your social media feeds to see fan reactions and lovable memes created to playfully honor the performances in TV titan Ryan Murphy‘s latest project.

And if that’s not enough, the music is everywhere, too. Billboard just reported that the first four tracks on its Top TV Songs chart hail from the Love Story soundtrack, which also occupies other spots on the survey. Here are show’s hits that made the list:

The music supervisor of Love Story recently opened up to The Hollywood Reporter about how she curated such an addictive — and authentic — end result.

I went through my personal playlist of favorite ’90s songs and organized them by year. We 100 percent wanted to be period-authentic,” Jen Malone told the magazine in an interview article published Saturday, March 28. “So there had been times where there’s a song that came out in 1996, but we were in the 1994 episode and we didn’t use it because we wanted to be really accurate with the year that we were in John and Carolyn’s lives.”

Malone continued, “We really wanted to make it a universal type of soundtrack. So being able to put in some of the non-iconic songs — whether it’s Slowdive or Cocteau Twins or Low — but also have everything like iconic songs from Goo Goo Dolls to The Cranberries. Everybody was really open and supportive to give this show a very wide breadth of what the ’90s were.”
