Oktoberfest is coming to Edmonton with great beer and live entertainment

19 August 20263 Mins Read

Oktoberfest is back in Edmonton this September with more beer and food, so get ready for a massive Bavarian-style celebration.

Dust off your dirndls and lederhosen; over three weekends starting in September, folks will get to head on down to Fan Park for the most authentic Oktoberfest celebrations in the city.

If you’re ready to grab your favourite stein and party, we’ve got all the details to know before you get started.

What to expect at Oktoberfest

When is Oktoberfest?

Oktoberfest this year kicks off on Friday, Sept. 18. From then until Saturday, Oct. 3, each Friday and Saturday evening will have a full slate of Oktoberfest activities and celebrations.

The exact dates are:

  • Friday, Sept. 18, 2026
  • Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026
  • Friday, Sept. 25, 2026
  • Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026
  • Friday, Oct. 2, 2026
  • Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026

Each day, the event will begin at 5 p.m and go until late.

Where does the event take place?

This festival will be taking place in The Tent at Fan Park. While the event does take place outside, the majority of the festival site is covered by the Oktoberfest tent.

What’s the best way to get there?

Driving and transit are both accessible options, with over 40 bus routes and five LRT stations within walking distance from the arena, according to ICE District. For those taking transit, we’d suggest using the City of Edmonton’s trip planner to find the best way to the event.

Is there parking?

If you’re choosing to drive, the ICE District Central Parkade is brightly lit and securely patrolled, offering hundreds of heated spaces close to the festival grounds.

What does the event entail?

This all-age event will feature a classic evening of beer and food, live entertainment, and all the Oktoberfest fun you could possibly imagine. You can expect things like table dancing in a rowdy atmosphere, authentic German foods and drinks, and endless musical entertainment.

The full lineup of festivities hasn’t been teased for this year yet, but we’re looking forward to seeing what they have in store.

Do the vendors take cash payments?

This will be a cashless event, so we’d suggest planning accordingly.

Are pets allowed?

With the exception of service animals, no pets or animals will be allowed on-site.

How much are tickets?

Tickets are available online at Ticketmaster for $36.50 plus fees. All of the dates’ tickets are available for purchase now, with individual day tickets being transferable as well.

What do tickets include?

Your ticket will include admission into the event as well as either one alcoholic beverage or two non-alcoholic beverages.

When: Every Friday and Saturday from Friday, Sept. 18, 2026, to Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026
Time: 5 p.m.
Where: 10104 104th Ave. NW, Edmonton, Alta.
Cost: $36.50
